Dog training for Olympia, Tumwater, Yelm, Lakewood, Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, and Bonney Lake

Dog training Olympia, Tumwater, Yelm, Lakewood, Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, and Bonney Lake

Private Dog Training lessons are an invaluable investment when you are struggling with coming when called, pulling/lunging on walks, jumping on people, growling over food and toys, or a nippy puppy.

They are the best option for excitable, fearful, or aggressive dogs, and for people who need scheduling flexibility. I travel to your home (or nearby park) for positive reinforcement lessons and boundaries to set you both up for success. We work through distractions in ways that build reliable understanding and confidence.

.

Let’s get you on the right track with:

    • Setting a strong foundation for a puppy
    • Reactive dogs (barking at dogs/people or fence fighting)
    • Growling over bones and toys
    • Chasing critters and cats
    • Wanting to involve the kids in the training process

How it works:

Contact me by email, call, or text and let me know what your goals are with your dog. I’ll recommend the program that will best meet your needs and we will set up our Foundation Lesson. We’ll practice easy-to-implement exercises and management techniques that can make you and your pups life easier right away. Over the weeks we will continue to build on both of your skills and introduce new challenges. Meeting in different locations to practice things like coming when called at the beach or going for a walk around a local park is an immense benefit of private lessons. For puppies, we can help you navigate the big world of proper socialization, crate and potty training, stealing socks and playing keep away, enjoying their company even during chaotic adolescence, and how to calm your wild thing during that second wind of evening energy.

 The Essentials Program

“My dog is smart, I just need help!”

We know how you feel!  The best dog owners know that dogs want to listen, they just have to be taught.

You might feel like your dog sometimes has selective hearing when they’re excited and you wish you could learn how to get them to chill out and be more manageable at home.

Imagine that your dog listens to you around the house, doesn’t jump on everyone all the time, comes back to you when you call them… everything would be so much more peaceful at home!

This program is perfect for families who would love to be involved in their dog’s training, need help with a couple of small behaviors and listening around the house.  It’s typically accomplished in about 4 private lessons.

Take On the World Program

You’d love to do more with your dog like going to parks, running at the beach, and having people over… and know that your dog will listen and you’ll both feel confident and comfortable.

Right now they may be overreacting to dogs, people, or even wildlife, dragging you down the street on walks and making time with them so much less fun than you imagined.  Maybe they bark like crazy or you feel like they lose all focus when something else captures their attention.

This program is also perfect for owners with puppies and teens who want to have a great foundation from the beginning!  Imagine having a young dog that leaves dropped items alone, doesn’t bolt out of doors, can play with you or the kids without resorting to jumping and nipping, and can actually be chill hanging out at the park.

Your life will be so much more enjoyable with your dog when you can give them more freedom, even when you’re surrounded by distractions.

This program gives us more time together so your dog will more reliably listen, even around distractions.  It is typically accomplished in 8-10 private lessons.

Make learning fun! Nala is learning to focus and wait for a reward in a distracting environment.

Let’s work together!

Whichever program you decide fits your needs, Riverside is here for both ends of the leash.
